Similar to the engines they are bolted to, turbochargers have internal parts moving atextremely high speeds and therefore require lubrication. Turbocharger oil lines providelubrication and cooling to the turbocharger from the same oil reservoir as the motor. Forthis reason, it is incredibly important to ensure that the lines are not clogged oraccumulating burnt bits of oil that could contaminate the engine lubricating system. Thisclogging and build up is the most common reason for the need to replace these lines.
